Add value.  Act with valour!

Hello, dear friends.  It’s been awhile.  We’ve missed you.  Welcome back!

The Imagine Now updates have been conspicuously absent.  But hey!  We’re back now, and ready to engage with more thought-provoking, soul-stirring, heart-warming, mood-lifting, mind-blowing, spirit-encouraging, body-soothing, mega-motivating reflections.

It’s one thing to want to be the ‘smartest kid in the class’, but more important than that—way more important than that—is aspiring to be the wisest kid.  You know, the one who inspires, encourages, uplifts, gladdens, comforts, clarifies and imparts the ‘stuff’—through words and actions—that really matters.

To that end, we’re launching a series on VALUES, a topic that Imagine Thailand is passionate about.

Here’s our series intro.  So join us, gentle reader, as we grow wise together, explore the things that matter, look deep within our souls, and ponder the who and what around us.

The Value of Values

VALUE (definition):  From the Latin, valere, to be of worth, to be strong, to be of value.  From which we get words like valuable, value-added, values and valour.

It can be an adjective, as in “Tak is a valued colleague”.  It can be a noun, as in “the gold was of immense value”.  It can even be a verb as in “I truly value your friendship”.

Each of us wants to be seen as being valued, adding value and acting valorously (bravely, courageously).

Likewise we, Imagine Thailand, aspire to add the greatest degree of value, to the greatest number of people, in the greatest way possible ... as an organization and as individuals within that organization.

To help us do that, we’ve created a set of values that help guide our relationships, set standards of conduct and focus our efforts.  They’re two-fold:  Inward Facing Values (how we relate to each other within Imagine) and Outward Facing Values (how we relate to those outside Imagine).  But whether inward or outward, there are lots of lessons to help us all get that all-important ‘stuff’ we need for wisdom.

Next time:  Bridges to Friendship

In the meantime:  Add value.  Act with valour!
